Three Methods of Improving Rapier Loom

The rapier loom is a kind of shuttleless loom widely used at present. Its active weft insertion method has good variety adaptability, can adapt to the weft insertion of various yarns, and has obvious advantages in multi-color weft weaving. . In the process of manufacturing and using rapier looms, some companies found that some designs of the loom were not satisfactory, so they improved the equipment.



Method 1 Remove the original selvedge guide frame, and no longer change the yarn frequently

In production, some rapier looms have imperfections in the selvedge guide frame, and the capacity of the package yarn that can be used on the guide frame is small, and frequent yarn changes are required. In order to solve the above problems, we removed all the skein yarn guides on both sides, and transformed the existing waste-side yarn feeder support feet on the square tube beam into support feet that can be installed on both sides of the yarn feeder. The waste side yarn feeding drum is installed on the outside, and the selvedge yarn feeding drum is installed on the inside. The specific improvement methods and steps are as follows.

First process a small shaft similar to the mandrel of the waste yarn feeding bobbin, and connect it to the other end of the loom. Use the discarded warp bars to make a simple hanging foot for installing the bobbin brake band assembly, and fix the simple hanging foot and the waste side yarn feeding bobbin foot with M6×20 mm countersunk screws. Then, use the scrap side yarn feeding bobbin to wind two 13.45tex×2 selvedge threads, install them on the mandrel inside the hanging legs, and use the bobbin brake band to adjust and control the tension of the selvedge thread. Finally, the ground plane of the square tube beam supporting foot at the rear of the machine is facing upwards, and the square tube is installed on it, so that the whole twisted side and waste side yarn feeding supporting foot will be raised by nearly 15 cm, which will make it more convenient to block the machine and operate after the machine. .

After the transformation, the selvedge package has a large yarn capacity, and it can be used for more than half a year after replacement. After removing the original selvedge guide frame, not only the cleaning work is easy to do, but the selvage yarn breaks and the problems such as the lock not being locked are well controlled. This transformation can save the company about 150 yuan in processing fees for small-tube yarns per year.



Method 2 Improve the scrap edge cutting and improve the edge cutting performance of the loom

When customers use some rapier looms to produce small canvas, they find that the scrap edges of scissors cannot meet the requirements of use. The main manifestations are: the strength of the scissors bracket is insufficient, and the vibration is obvious during use; the scissors blades are not durable and require frequent sharpening or even replacement. ; There is a problem of poor separation of waste edges and torn edges of the fabric. After on-site observation, research and analysis, we have adopted the following improvement measures.

First improve the scissors cam. The scissor cam is improved from two aspects: the profile curve of the scissor cam and the material. The original movable scissor blade transmission part is an eccentric cam, and weft insertion and cutting are performed once. In order to improve the shearing effect, the protruding contour curve is improved into a figure of eight. The improved scissor cam realizes weft insertion and cutting twice at a time, and the cutting frequency is doubled, which is beneficial to the cutting of waste edges of heavy fabrics. The original scissors cam is injection molded of glass fiber reinforced nylon, which is suitable for mass production. In order to enhance the wear resistance and facilitate the production of one piece, the material of the scissors cam is changed to 45 steel for heat treatment, which improves the wear resistance. The second is to change the material grade of the scissors blade. The original scissors blade is YG8 hard alloy, which has high strength, impact resistance, but low wear resistance. In order to improve the wear resistance, combined with the working conditions of the scissors, the blade material is changed to YG6 cemented carbide. Again, strengthen the fixed blade holder. In order to enhance the rigidity of the fixed blade holder, the thickness of the fixed blade holder was changed from 4 mm to 5 mm. Through the above improvements, the performance of cutting waste edges is greatly improved, and the efficiency of starting the loom is greatly improved, which meets the requirements of customers for weaving use.



Method 3 Use spring tensioner creel to improve efficiency

The model of loom machine used by SUNTECH is ST series. The staff found the following deficiencies in the waste edge yarn device of the rapier loom during production: the tension of each waste edge yarn on the loom cannot be adjusted separately; the tension of the waste edge yarn is different, resulting in poor edge flatness and poor forming; the loom When producing to the middle shaft and the small shaft, the cumulative tension difference is outstanding, and the individual slack scrap edge yarn causes the warp droplets to sink, resulting in unreasonable stoppage.

In response to the above problems, the company's technical staff made the following improvements: First, cancel the waste edge yarn winding equipment. Eliminating the weaving of the waste yarn tray can save labor. Secondly, remove the original equipment selvedge yarn seat, make and install waste selvedge yarn and selvedge yarn creel with washer spring tensioner, with a capacity of 10 bobbins. Both waste side yarn and skeined yarn directly use pagoda bobbin, and pass through the drop warp and heald after being adjusted by the tensioner. The quantity and yarn number of waste edge yarn and skein yarn can be flexibly changed and adjusted according to the variety. The tension of single waste yarn and skein yarn can be flexibly adjusted at any time.

After the above improvements, it not only saves manpower and material resources, enhances the adaptability of waste edge yarn and skein yarn products, but also increases the efficiency of the loom from 73% before the change to 87% after the change, and the selvedge quality has also been significantly improved.
